AS THE EVENTS OF 2023 BEGINS TO UNFOLD, THE NARRATIVE OF CROSS RIVER STATE POLITICS IS GETTING MORE AND MORE INTERESTING.
It is sad and disconcerting how my Southern APC Brothers and sisters have become so blinded by a double standard Governor’s supposed support for the South to some degree that they cannot see eye to eye with his intrigues, even as alarming and as glaring as his tendencies seems.
I believe It is our collective responsibility as party faithfuls and loyalists to put the Party’s interest and Supremacy above our personal interests in any event. And as Party loyalist, if I uncover a prank and injustice against our Southern Brothers in our Party, then I should be courageous enough to draw their attention and the attention of the public to it, failure to which it may be counted as a disservice to our great Party, the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Strictly speaking, after series of careful investigations as a concerned Party member and stakeholder as regards Senator Bassey Otu’s disqualification by the APC National Gubernatorial Primaries Screening Committee, I realized that Governor Ben Ayade has been the major enemy of the Southern Senatorial District and the sole architect behind the disqualification of Prince Bassey Otu as the Governor has been very much aware of his Certificate Saga even before his defection to the All Progressives Congress.
And therefore cannot convince any informed mind that he isn’t aware of the tantalizing petition that was filed before the screening Committee against the person of Senator Prince Bassey Otu. After All, the Governor and his State Chairman had a hand in the composition of the screening and appeal committees.
A quick check revealed that one of the members of the screening committee is from Bornu and a personal friend of Okadigbo our state Chairman during his days as a student of the University of Maidugri.
In my submission, I want to vociferously state that Governor Ben Ayade’s decision to bring Senator Bassey Otu as the APC Governorship Consensus Candidate was borne out of his long term plan to hand over the Governorship ticket of the APC Cross River State to his bosom friend in person of Hon. Chris Agara which was why the governor strategically did everything within his arsenal or power to make sure that no other aspirant from the Southern Senatorial District purchased or acquired interest/nomination form aside from Prince Bassey Otu as far APC Cross River State Governorship race is concerned.
Interestingly, this his bosom friend, Agara turns out to be the sole financier of the entire disqualification plot.
Feelers from the day the initial screening took place indicate that he has been deeply involved from being the first to know of this disqualification and to personally making contact with key elements of both committees and spending huge sums of dollars.
Doesn’t the state Chairman know this? Why has he kept quiet. As governor of a state and the kind of enormous powers Governors in APC are wielding is Ayade saying he is unaware of his friends sordid activities with both committees that has brought us to this point?
At this point its not anymore about whether huge sums of money are used to get Otu cleared by NWC its about how damaging the facts against Prince Otu in the public are.
Or is there another deal also between Ayade and Imoke for Gershon Bassey to take over?
