Don’t Allow 2023 Politics Divide Us, Nigeria Is One – Jedy-Agba Tells Nigerians

The Honourable Minister of State, Power, Goddy Jedy Agba, OFR has urged Nigerians to remain steadfast and believe in the unity and indivisibility of the country despite the challenges facing the country.

Jedy-Agba, stated this in a statement he issued in Abuja on Friday to celebrate Nigeria’s sixty one years Independence Anniversary.

The Minister appealed to politicians in the country not to allow the politics of 2023 set them against each other, saying that Nigeria will always remian indivisible and stronger.

He said that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is blind to opposition and ethnic sentiments as all Nigerians and parts are treated the same.

According to him, “as we celebrate the 61 Independence anniversary of this great nation, we must at every point reflect on the sacrifices of our forefathers to get us to where we are today. We need to lift their spirits in their graves by promoting peace, unity and oneness of Nigeria”.

He expressed concern that “the tone of our discussion heading to 2023 is a thing of great concern to me. We must not allow the politics of the next general elections divide us. In the end, we’ll have a President for all not region”.

While assuring that the Buhari’s government will continue to work to satisfy Nigerians energy needs, he added that the evidence of the President’s commitment to one Nigeria is seen in his development of every part of the country.

“I can assure you that power remains top of our agenda. We’ve achieved a lot in the past six years; there’s no single geopolitical zone in Nigeria today that we’ve not commissioned projects. This is a testament to the President’s commitment to one Nigeria. We’ll continue to work harder to achieve our target of satisfying the energy needs of Nigerians.

We want to leave a legacy that by the time this administration ends, Nigerians will look back and be proud that they gave us the opportunity to serve them.
