A Communique Issued by the Leadership of CRS Ejagham Youth Welfare Assembly

A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY THE LEADERSHIP OF THE AFOREMENTIONED YOUTH ASSEMBLY DURING AN EMERGENCY GENERAL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 9TH MARCH, 2023 IN CALABAR.

We, the leadership and members of the Ejagham Youth Welfare Assembly Cross
River State in an emergency meeting on Thursday 9th March, 2023 hereby
unanimously resolved and adopt a motion of POWER ROTATION TO THE
SOUTHERN SENATORIAL DISTRICT OF CROSS RIVER STATE.

This press conference serves as a clear repellant to the tribal and ethnic political
dichotomy by some servile tribal bigots, whose aim is to leverage on claims of
ethnic disintegration to take power by conquest.

The above conglomerate disassociate itself and debunk the purported
endorsement/instruction by Ejagham Nation on how to vote come Saturday 18th
March, 2023 Gubernatorial Elections in Cross River State.

As an ethnic group of repute, we are poised to sustain the long-standing
relationship and peaceful co-existence amongst the existing tribes. Though we
have the rights to air our views, but let us avoid a situation of being seen as partisan.

Following our analysis/observations in the fulfillment of the call for good
governance and excellent representation of leaders, especially elected public
office holders in Cross River State, there is need to maintain justice, fairness and equitable rotation of power across the three senatorial zones.

We state unequivocally that:

1. No single tribe amongst the numerous tribes in Cross River State has the
monopoly of capacity to decide where power goes to without a proper
synergy with other tribes.

2. No individual will trickily hide under the auspices of Ejagham to fulfil his desperate and selfish political interest.

3. Candidates and political parties should endeavor to endear the electorates through their political blueprint, antecedents/legacies and not instigating tribal sentiments which has the propensity to cause chaos/rancor amongst the good and loving ethnic groups in Cross River State.

We pray God Almighty, which knowest the hearts of all men guide and help us
cast our votes wisely.

Together we can raise a generation of young leaders.
Thank you.
