The Canon Collins Trust is pleased to announce the opening of applications for scholarships to study for the Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, and/or the Master of Laws (LLM) by distance learning at the prestigious University of London in 2023.
This incredible opportunity allows applicants to start at any level and progress through the program as per their convenience. For instance, candidates can begin with the Postgraduate Certificate and advance to the LLM, or they can choose to complete the PG Certificate and Diploma. Moreover, those who hold an LLB degree have the option to begin directly at the LLM level, bypassing the PG Certificate and Diploma.

University of London LLM Scholarships
Are you eligible for the University of London LLM Scholarships?
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be in possession of the necessary qualifications required for admission to the programme. Please see here information on the admission requirements of the university. Note that you do not need to be admitted to the programme before applying for the scholarship, but you will need to apply separately for admission if you are selected for a scholarship.
Canon Collin’s Trust requires applicants for this scholarship to be:

- a national of, or have refugee status in, one of the following countries: Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe
- normally resident in one of these countries
- in possession of the necessary qualifications required for admission to the programme
- currently employed in full or part-time work;
- able to commit a minimum of 10 hours to study per week.

What we offer
These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of University of London International Programmes which shall waive full tuition and examination entry fees for four scholarship recipients. Scholarship recipients have between 1 to 5 years to complete the qualification, however recipients are required to complete at least two modules per year. Continued registration on the course is dependent upon satisfactory progress and academic reports.
The University of London and Canon Collins Trust will jointly select the recipients of this award.
How to apply for the University of London LLM Scholarships
We are now accepting applications through our online form. Deadline for submitting an application is 23rd August 2023. All applicants are required to submit the following supporting documentation:

- ID document (the following are acceptable: passport, birth certificate, driver’s license)

- Academic transcripts, if applying for LLM
- Degree certificates, if applying for LLM, or school/other certificates
- Reference letters from two referees
- A copy of your two most recent payslips.
Ideally, you should submit an academic reference and a reference from an employer. If you are applying to start at PG Certificate level and have not attended university you may supply two work references.
You should ask your referees to write a reference that relates to your application for this award and reflects how you meet the selection criteria below. It should outline your strengths as an applicant, demonstrate your capacity to study at the level required, and identify your potential impact in the future.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your application is complete and accurate before submitting your application online. All sections of the form need to be complete before the system will allow the application form to be submitted. Information can be saved and the application form edited until the applicant chooses to submit.
Late applications will not be considered. Please do not email us to ask about the outcome of your application. All notifications will be by email so please make sure you provide an accurate email address. We will let you know the outcome of your application by October 2023.
