Bloomberg rates Dangote Africa’s richest man with $15.6bn

Despite the fluctuations of the Nigerian currency against the US dollar, Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group, retains his position as the wealthiest individual in Africa, as reported by Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).

According to the daily top billionaire lists released by Bloomberg, Dangote’s wealth stands at $15.6 billion, surpassing other African billionaires on the Index.

Among the other Africans listed in the top 500 world billionaires for 2023 are Johann Rupert and family of South Africa with a net worth of $13.3 billion, Nicky Oppenheimer of South Africa, Nassef Sawiris of Egypt, Natie Kirsh of South Africa, and Naguib Sawiris, whose fortunes range from $9.0 billion to $5.93 billion.

Notably, Elon Musk and Bernard Arnault claim the top two spots globally, with respective fortunes of $219 billion and $194 billion, followed by Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates with $151 billion and $130 billion. Larry Ellison secures the fifth position with $130 billion on the world’s billionaires’ chart.
