Housewife Commits Suicide Over Her Husband’s Infidelity with Sidechic in Akure

A tragic incident that has shaken the community of Igoba in Akure, Ondo State, a housewife identified as Mrs. Bose Odunayo has taken her own life, reportedly driven to despair by her husband’s alleged infidelity.

The heart-wrenching incident unfolded when Mrs. Odunayo, a mother of four, resorted to drinking a herbicide following a threatening call from one of her husband’s alleged concubines, who claimed to be pregnant with his child. This distressing turn of events took place in the Igoba area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Local sources reveal that the victim’s family brought her lifeless body from Akoko for burial at her husband’s residence in Akure. Rituals were conducted before her final resting place was prepared.

Tragically, Mrs. Odunayo had sensed the impending doom and had travelled to her hometown in Ifira Akoko to inform her parents that she believed her husband’s womanizing tendencies would lead to her untimely demise. In her distress, she also mentioned that the concubine had accused her of being responsible for a miscarriage.

This shocking incident comes after a previous suicide attempt by Mrs. Odunayo in 2021 when she ingested the same herbicide. At that time, her husband intervened promptly, rushing her to a private hospital for treatment. However, this time, fate took a cruel turn as she consumed the toxic substance while her husband was absent.

The husband, a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Akure, expressed his disbelief, stating that his late wife had falsely claimed to be solely responsible for all household expenses, including the children’s school fees, despite being a full-time homemaker.
