Nigerian Air Force Executes Successful Airstrikes Against IPOB, Boko Haram, and Criminal Elements

Nigeria Air Force Foils IPOB Attack, Targets Oil Thieves in Coordinated Airstrikes

In a swift and strategic move, the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) successfully thwarted an impending attack by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South East region of Anambra State. Through a combination of intelligence gathering and a meticulously coordinated operation, NAF personnel executed precise airstrikes on a well-known IPOB camp situated in Orsumoghu, within the Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.

The operation, which was carried out under the directives of the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, was a response to credible intelligence reports that indicated plans within the makeshift camps of the secessionist group to launch attacks on innocent citizens. The proactive measures taken by the NAF ensured that the impending danger was neutralized before it could be executed, averting potential loss of lives and damage to property.

In a statement released shortly after the operation, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet emphasized the NAF’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and well-being of Nigerian citizens. He highlighted that the airstrikes were aimed at dismantling the threat posed by IPOB elements and maintaining a peaceful environment in the South East.

The NAF’s proactive stance did not end with countering the IPOB threat. A separate airstrike was conducted to target suspected oil thieves operating in the Niger Delta Region, an area critical to Nigeria’s oil production. The activities of these oil thieves have not only had a detrimental impact on the region’s environment but have also affected the nation’s oil output.

The Nigeria Air Force has been relentless in its pursuit of security and stability in the Niger Delta. The recent airstrike focused on an area that had previously been cleared of terrorists approximately six months ago. The location east of Arra, which had been subject to intense bombardment by NAF aircraft in the past, was once again targeted to prevent terrorists from regrouping and using it as a base for staging attacks.

The outcome of the airstrike was deemed successful, with numerous terrorists neutralized and structures destroyed. Footage captured after the operation revealed the chaotic disarray among the surviving terrorists as they hastily fled the scene. The NAF’s decisive actions have considerably diminished the ability of these terrorists to threaten friendly forces and innocent civilians.

The Nigeria Air Force’s timely and effective response to the impending IPOB attack and its unrelenting efforts to curb the activities of oil thieves in the Niger Delta region underscore its dedication to national security. These actions reinforce the commitment of the NAF to upholding peace and stability across Nigeria, ensuring the safety of its citizens, and protecting the country’s valuable resources.
