Deadly Ambush Claims Lives of Three Senior Military Officers and 20 Soldiers in Niger State

The incident occurred on Monday morning around 5 am, according to information obtained from military sources.
Among the victims were three senior military officers, including an army major and two lieutenants. One of the lieutenants was identified as Y. Alkali. The attack was reportedly carried out by bandits who laid a deadly ambush, catching the military personnel off-guard.
A soldier, speaking about the harrowing incident, revealed, “Nigerian army this morning lost about 23 soldiers, they were ambushed by bandits.
One major, two lieutenants were among the victims. In fact, they set some of them ablaze inside the Hilux vehicle.”
Efforts to gather official statements from the Nigerian army were made, but Onyema Nwachukwu, the army spokesperson, remained unavailable for comment.
Despite attempts to reach out to Nwachukwu and seek clarification on the matter, messages sent to him went unanswered.
